The Complexe chirurgical CMC is comprised of 3 entities:

  • Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie is the only private hospital centre in Québec. It is equipped with four operating rooms, a day surgery and one-17 bed inpatient unit.
  • GrS Montréal is devoted exclusively to gender affirmation surgery.
  • Maison de convalescence Asclépiade is a post-surgical recovery centre for patients who underwent a genital surgery.

The Complexe Chirurgical CMC (“CMC“ “we“ “us” and “our“) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Policy on the protection of personal information (the “Policy“) describes how we collect, use and disclose your personal information and how it may be accessed and corrected when necessary. This Policy also explains how cookies are used on our websites and on our TransAvenue Blog.

  • GrS Montréal only collects personal information that you transmit via the Platform or that has been provided to us by your healthcare professionals.
  • More specifically, the information collected includes data relating to your medical file as a patient (pre-per-postoperative phases), as well as certain data relating to your lifestyle (demographic data, language spoken, professions, family environment, gender identity, etc.).

Automatically Collected Data:

  • We also collect data when you visit our Website, including your IP address, the date, time and duration of your visits, and the pages you have visited.
  • Our Website uses cookies or similar technologies to offer you a richer browsing experience, improve the performance of our Website and generate audience statistics. These are files that are installed on your computer’s hard drive or browser to collect information such as your preferred language, your browsing history, your browser type and version; their goal is to maximize your experience on our Website.   • to understand and analyze the users trends and preferences, improve the Website, and create new products and services and new features and functionalities;

In the latter case, your personal information may be transferred to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different privacy rules than your country. Upon receipt of the duly completed form, we will make every effort to follow up your request, it being understood, however, that serious practical difficulties may limit our ability to do so.

  1. Our Roles and Responsibilities

We are responsible for personal information that is collected, retained, used, disclosed, and destroyed. We will continue to develop policies and practices to ensure that this information is handled in strict compliance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. The Privacy Officer is responsible for monitoring the application of these policies and practices to ensure compliance.

Employees – Healthcare professionals and employees who collect personal information shall explain the purposes for which the information is obtained. Healthcare professionals and employees must report any violation of this Policy to their manager.

Managers and Supervisors – In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, managers and supervisors must inform healthcare professionals and employees of the obligation to comply with the Policy and the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

Privacy Officer – The Privacy Officer will provide advice and guidance to senior executives, managers, supervisors, healthcare professionals and employees. This person will also serve as the first point of contact for individuals who want information or have concerns about the handling of their personal information.

Like any social media user, we can see who has subscribed to our GrS Montréal and Complexe chirurgical CMC pages, and how users interact with our publications.

In particular, we have access to subscribers’ first and last names and profiles, “likes”, comments and shares, and the number of times a publication is viewed (on LinkedIn).

If you visit our website from one of our social network publications, please be aware that we use certain trackers to:
